Using Non-Owned Transfers
The Non-Owner Transfers option is used for transferring customer inventory from one non-owner location to another, from one item code to another, or from one customer to another. Transfers may be used to consolidate multiple non-owner lots into a single non-owner lot.
1. When you first enter the Non-Owned Transfer option a Select An Option window will appear with the following options:
- If you select EXIT, the system will leave this option.
- If you select NEW NON-OWNER TRANSFER, the system will allow you to create a new non-owner transfer.
- If you select OLD NON-OWNER TRANSFER, the system will allow you to access a transfer already entered so that you may view or reverse it.
- If you select PRINT LIST, the system will allow you to print a list of non-owner transfers entered in today.
The following fields will display on the Non-Owned Transfers screen:
- Transfer Number – The system-assigned reference number for the transfer. Transfer numbers are assigned sequentially, beginning with the date and 00001 every day. Non-owner transfers and inventory transfers share the same numbering scheme.
- From Cust – The customer ID code of the customer who owns the non-owner that inventory is being transferred from
- Location – The location from which the transfer is being taken
- From Item – The item code of the non-owner item to be transferred from
- Weight – The total pounds of this item to be transferred. If this item is normally not stocked in pounds, the each conversion will be displayed in parentheses, next to the weight.
- To Cust – The customer ID code of the customer the transfer is going to. The From Cust field is automatically defaulted into this field.
- To Item – The item code of the non-owner item being transferred to
- Location – The non-owner location to be transferred to
- Non-owner Lot – The non-owner lot number into which to induct the transferred weight
- Weight – The total pounds to be transferred to this item. This may be more or less than the Transfer From weight. If this item is normally not stocked in pounds, the "each" conversion will be displayed in parentheses next to the weight.
- Lot Balance – The total amount of the item currently in the non-owner lot, expressed in the stocking unit of measure.
- Opened – The date the non-owner lot was first opened. Defaults to the current system date.
- Yield – The resultant yield of this transfer. Calculation: (To Weight / From Weight) x 100 = Yield %.
- Per Pound Charge – A per pound storage charge to be assessed to the customer on a monthly basis
- Free Thru Date – The date through which the customer will not be assessed a storage charge
- Description – The description associated with this transfer. The system defaults the user ID of the person currently logged into the terminal where the transfer is being done.
